About Klára Abdi de Luz
Originally from Czechoslovakia, I escaped my country with my mother and elder brother and became a refugee to Canada at the age of 10.

In 2014, I embarked on a healing journey to heal my developmental, complex and intergenerational trauma.
My healing journey included transformational counselling, reconnected to my body and intuition through dance and meditation, discovering sound healing, delving into and healing my subconscious and doing ancestral healing through my own ceremonies.

The primary healing modality I employ is sound healing which I discovered in 2018, drawing on my previous musical training and my newly-discovered healing abilities. I use a variety of instruments including crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, shamanic drum, various steel tongue drums, ocean drum, wind chimes, bamboo and other types of rattles, rainmaker, and more.

I was led to shamanic drumming intuitively and have received guidance through connecting to my guides and ancestors. I have also completed several shamanic workshops.
In terms of energy healing, I am trained in Pranic Healing (advanced level), Magnified Healing and Reiki (Level 1). Along with my years-long experience, intuitive guidance, and receiving healing from other practitioners, I have molded the learnings from these trainings into my own particular style of energy healing.
I trained with Richard Hastings, MA, in his transformational approach to counselling and also draw on the complementary work of Dr. Richard Schwarz, founder of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and shamanic healing. I see these approaches as complementary and connected.
I combine all these modalities to form my own unique healing approach. When working with clients, I am able to tailor my sessions to fit with their specific needs.

I am currently a PhD Candidate at UBC, writing an arts-based dissertation examining my own trauma healing journey. I draw on concepts from psychology, various forms of alternative healing and spirituality and am using both creative writing and my sound healing videos to convey to my readers/viewers/listeners my experiences in beautiful and multi-modal forms. Through my healing work with clients and my PhD project I am in the process of developing a unique healing framework for the healing of trauma.

I am active on YouTube, creating sound healing meditations, shamanic guided journeys, and ASMR videos with sound and energy healing. Check out my channel: Sound Journeys https://www.youtube.com/@SoundJourneys

My intention in all my work is to help people heal, whether this is simply from sharing vulnerably so others know they are not alone in their struggles or working directly with clients in my practice. I also teach creative writing and help people using other creative methods.

If all this resonates with you, I would love to work with you in my UBC studio in Vancouver or at your home in the Lower Mainland, Sunshine Coast, Gulf Islands or Vancouver Island. I can also work with you online if you do not live in my area. Please reach out and let's connect and discuss the best healing options for you!

Thank you for visiting my page and connecting - I am happy you are here.
Other Practitioners I Work With

Roya Abdi,
Bodyworker and Somatic Energy Healer
Hi there, I'm Roya. I am a bodyworker and somatic energy healer with a studio at UBC. I graduated from the Vancouver School of Healing Arts with a Bodywork Therapy Diploma. Prior to my schooling, I was very sensitive to energies in my environment and the people I came into contact with. Through my own personal journey with somatic healing, I have been able to grow my roots deeper and fuller. Combining my personal experiences with my schooling, I now have a solid foundation for my work.

My work is cantered around the sacredness of our needs, integration and healing. I believe that through the recognition and fulfillment of our needs we become more embodied and in tune with our higher selves.

I have been trained in multiple modalities, including myofascial deep tissue, reflexology, Swedish, joint release, head massage, hydrotherapy combined with aromatherapy.

My work is centred around the sacredness of our needs, integration and healing. I believe that through the recognition and fulfillment of our needs we become more embodied and in tune with our higher selves. I also believe that it is through the process that we gain wisdom about our patterns in relation to unmet needs. I believe that maybe it is the complexity of our needs that reflects the depths of our spiritual nature.

I have always been in tune with my body and how our spirit leaves us messages through this vessels. My role is to listen and bring the intention of love and acceptance into places within the body that call me to them. I find that the more present the client is willing to be the more powerful the impact will be. You don’t have to do anything but breathe and surrender.

Though my work is always centred around energy (state of being and embodiment) I still love to use touch and my physical techniques to help ground and explore the range of movement in the body. To me it’s about balance, they help each other, they coexist. You can’t shift the physical without first shifting the energetic, but that all happens in the nervous system. The nervous system and massage have been linked throughout time but now that we are understanding the layers and importance nervous system work has on us, our work is no longer superficial and just relaxing - it is healing and using that knowledge to bring awareness is so powerful.
